measurements of the indicia and of the background shall be taken with the axis of the brightness meter perpendicular to the surface being measured. An average of the indicia and background reading shall be used to determine conformance to the contrast values specified in 3.5.
4.5.7 Dielectric. For nonhermetically sealed instruments, a voltage of 500V plus twice the lamp circuit design voltage at 60 Hz shall be applied for one minute between each terminal and the case and between the lighting terminals with the lamps removed. If the case is hermetically sealed, 200V at 60 Hz shall be applied between each terminal and the case for one minute. There shall be no insulation breakdown as a result of this test.
5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 Preservation, packaging, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the applicable detail specification.
6. NOTES
6.1 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification
b. When sampling plan B tests will not be conducted (see 4.4.2.2)
6.2 Marginal indicia. The margins of this specification are not marked with an asterisk to indicate where changes (additions, modifications, corrections, deletions) from the previous issue were made. This was done as a convenience only and the Government assumes no liability whatsoever for any inaccuracies in these notations. Bidders and contractors are cautioned to evaluate the requirements of this document based on the entire content irrespective of the marginal notations and relationship to the last previous issue.
6.3 Amendment. Amendments are incorporated into this document.
