4.4 Conformance inspection. Conformance inspection shall consist of the following:
a. Individual tests (see 4.4.1).
b. Sampling tests (see 4.4.2).
4.4.1 Individual tests. Each indicator shall be subjected to the following tests:
a.
Examination of product (see 4.5.1).
b.
Dielectric strength (see 4.5.3).
c.
d.
Electrical zero (see 4.5.4).
Scale and friction error (see 4.5.5).
e.
Position error (see 4.5.6).
f.
Sealing (see 4.5.7).
g.
4.4.2 Sampling tests. One indicator shall be selected at random from each 100 or less
produced on the contract or order and subjected to the following tests:
a.
Individual tests (see 4.4.1).
Sampling plan A tests of MIL-L-27160 (see 4.5.8).
b.
Vibration (see 4.5.9).
c.
Low temperature (see 4.5.10).
d.
High temperature (see 4.5.11).
e.
f.
Fogging (see 4.5.12).
Insulation resistance (see 4.5.13).
g.
4.5 Tests.
4.5.1 Examination of product. The indicator shall be examined to determine compliance
with the requirements specified herein with respect to the following:
a.
Exterior finish.
b.
Case and outline dimensions.
c.
visibility).
d.
Electrical connector.
e.
External bonding.
f.
Coverglass and reflection reducing coating.
g.
Weight.
h.
Nameplate and markings.
i.
Workmanship.
4.5.2 Lighting (individual tests of MIL-L-27160). The indicator shall be subjected to the
individual tests of MIL-L-27160.
