4.5.10 Low temperature. The low temperature test shall be conducted in accordance
with MIL-STD-810, Method 502, "Low Temperature", procedure for storage test, including the
option of operation at low temperature and room temperature. The storage temperature shall be -
80 °F (-62 ºC) and shall be held at that temperature for a period of 72 hours. At the end of the
72-hour period, the chamber temperature shall be raised to -65 °F (-54 ºC) and maintained for a
24-hour period. At the end of the 24-hour period and while still at -65 °F (-54 ºC), the indicator
shall be subjected to the test specified in 4.5.5. The indicator shall not require more than 30
seconds to indicate within specified tolerances. The indicator shall then be returned to room
temperature for a period of 1 hour after which it shall again meet the test specified in 4.5.5.
