4.5.11 High temperature. The indicator shall be subjected to a high temperature test in
accordance with MIL-STD-810, Method 501, "High Temperature", procedure for operational
test, using the constant temperature option except the exposure time shall be at least 48 hours.
The exposure temperature shall be 160 °F (71 °C). While at the high temperature, the indicator
shall be subjected to and shall meet the test specified in 4.5.5. After the indicator has been
returned to room temperature for 1 hour, it shall again meet the test specified in 4.5.5.
4.5.12 Fogging. The indicator shall be placed in a controlled ambient temperature of
185 °F ± 9 °F (85 ºC ± 5 ºC) for a minimum period of 2 hours. Within 10 seconds after removal
from the oven, the indicator shall be immersed to a depth of 0.25 inch in an ice water bath
maintained at 32 °F ± 45 °F (0 ºC to 7 ºC). After 3 minutes, the indicator shall be removed from
